THE ARTS: 'Henry V,' up-close and personal, in the arboretum
June 12, 2012
You’re invited to see King Henry rally his outnumbered troops to defeat France on its home turf, or, in this case, the UC Davis Arboretum. Or, more precisely, the gazebo.
That is where the Davis Shakespeare Ensemble is presenting Henry V, starting with a preview performance Thursday (June 14) and continuing through July 1 (performances Thursday through Sunday; see times and all the dates below).
A news release states: “The ensemble will shed new light on this classic by transforming what is normally a war epic into an intimately suspenseful experience — with a tight-knit company of only five actors!”
